I put a classified ad out on the local newspapers website reading, "Firewood Wanted - Will take away unwanted dead/fallen trees." One fellow called me so far and we made arrangements to get a utility trailer and head out there this weekend.
It is about a 30 minute drive but well worth it. This guy has tons of dead/fallen trees and best of all...a hydraulic log splitter!
We arrived at 0930 and finished up at 1430. All told we cleaned up about 2 trees and net about a cord of wood. A cord of wood is 4 feet wide, 4 feet high and 8 feet long. This added to what we have cut already brings our total cordage to about 1.5.

so we now know the cordage .... how many days of free heat is that ??
